Why Grand River?
Grand River Academy and K12 give Mesa County Valley School District 51 students, in kindergarten through 12th grades, the chance to learn in the ways that are right for them. Grand River students will be supported by local teachers and staff who will focus on each child’s potential through an individualized learning plan that evolves as the child grows.
Our Mission:

Grand River is committed to providing a quality education for a diverse population of students enrolled in our virtual program by using data, structured curriculum, family and community partnerships, social activities, flexibility, as well as online and local onsite support to inspire life-long successful learners and well-rounded global citizens.

Grand River Offers Students:
The award-winning K12 curriculum for grades K-5th and Odysseyware for grades 6th-12th
A solid, tuition-free 21st century education
Local, State-certified teachers, with a parent or other responsible adult in the role of the Learning Coach
The blended school model allows students to take part in both an online and classroom learning environment—this model allows for students to work with their peers weekly; doing hands on activities with teacher guidance in core content classes, but to also work online, at home, at their own pace
Flexible pacing and an Individualized Learning Plan
A combination of both in class and online coursework—including a wide array of in-class projects, science experiments, videos, fieldtrips, and hands-on learning activities—as part of a comprehensive K-5 or high school program
The excitement of joining a community of connected learners with a wide range of extracurricular clubs, fun/learning activities and other opportunities for socialization
Opportunities to play District 51 sports and take courses at neighborhood school
Small group tutoring with our local, highly qualified teachers
Ability to receive a District 51 high school diploma
